York International: Student Service
York University provides a service called York International, with this they help students to renew/extend study permits. This service also facilitates international students to meet and helps with branching out while going through the difficult changes that come with moving to a different country.

Invitation to Apply for PR:
This occurs when attempting to become a permanent resident of Canada. After the Four years of having a student visa there is the ability to apply for a work visa and while this is happening points need to be acquired so as to submit your application to get an invitation to apply for permanent residency.

The Points System
In this first step to applying there are points that need to be gained for entry, these points come from work, education, age, marital status, assessable funds, family in the country, clean police record, and valid job offer are all ways to help boost your score so as to have the ability to get an invitation to apply. These are some ways to plan for the future if there is a want to remain in Canada.

While attending York University there are functions and events held to help York University international students who are looking for legal advice and often hold Q&A sessions. York International Services Can be located throughout the website. It provides information on events, immigration, health insurance, global networking, and much more it is a resource to help international students with a variety of needs.
